“Gracias” means ‘thanks’ in Spanish. This word-work conveys the important idea of reconciliation and protection. There is a special sense of nearness and closeness when we acknowledge both our internal fears and hopes, and creating space to welcome the love for God and love for others. Gracias serves reminder that we are here to share. For me means to connect with those who protect me during times of struggle and difficulty, while also expressing how I, in turn, offer protection and care to others. It embodies gratitude that fosters mutual support and understanding. It had been made with collected sands from my morning meditation beach trips.
